Position Overview:
Job Title: Manager of Wine and Spirits Operations
Department: Wine & Spirits
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

General Function:
The Manager of Wine and Spirits Operations is responsible for establishing the department's standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, professional appearance, and overall profitability. This role involves coordinating the delivery of the freshest and highest quality products at competitive retail prices.

Reporting Structure:
Accountable to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home
Supervises: Wine and Spirits Department Staff

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes friendliness and teamwork.
  • Encourage employees to engage with customers, providing prompt and courteous service.
  • Set and uphold department standards for service, cleanliness, and profitability.
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
  • Collaborate with the store director to establish department goals.
  • Manage weekly work schedules and daily operational plans.
  • Oversee product signage, displays, and inventory management.
  • Stay informed on product trends and educate customers accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing accuracy and financial procedures.
  • Conduct regular inventory assessments and plan promotional displays.
  • Maintain proper storage conditions to ensure product freshness.
  • Adhere to company policies and maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ensure competitive pricing within the market.
  • Participate in meetings and ongoing training.
  • Assist in various store functions as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant work experience.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly. Visual acuity is required for tasks such as depth perception and color differentiation.


Working Environment:
This role may involve exposure to temperature extremes and cleaning chemicals in a fast-paced setting.
Confidentiality:
Access to sensitive information, including employee compensation and sales reports, is required.
Financial Responsibility:
Accountable for company assets, including equipment and merchandise.
Contact:
Daily interaction with customers, employees, and suppliers is expected.
