Job Overview

The Neuroscience Research Associate will be engaged in a research initiative focused on exploring the biological foundations of human cognition through the analysis of brain activity in neurosurgical patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering cognitive assessments in a clinical setting while capturing brain (electrophysiological) data. This role requires effective interaction with both research and clinical personnel, as well as patients and their families; hence, exceptional interpersonal abilities are crucial. Previous experience in clinical settings and direct patient engagement is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

The selected individual will also undertake managerial responsibilities, assisting the Principal Investigator with tasks such as calendar management, communication facilitation, processing reimbursements, and handling related documentation. Additionally, support for laboratory and research initiatives will include managing IRB protocols, onboarding and overseeing lab members, supervising lab equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, preparing updates for funding agencies, managing databases, and liaising with collaborators. Strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or a related field is preferred, or a combination of relevant research experience and education.
  • 0-2 years of experience in research or working with human subjects.
