We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to enhance our Surgery Hardware team, contributing to a variety of hardware initiatives for both research and clinical applications. This role is ideal for a multifaceted engineer with a strong background in diverse mechanical design areas, including but not limited to, injection molded components, pneumatic systems, silicone molding, sheet metal fabrication, and CNC machining.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and creation of implantable hardware and specialized surgical instruments for our innovative minimally invasive surgical techniques.
  • Lead the development of hardware systems essential for gathering neural data in both research and clinical settings.
  • Collaborate with experts in surgical navigation, engaging with surgeons and other professionals in the field.
  • Conduct hands-on assembly, integration, and testing while maintaining strict quality control standards.
  • Work alongside team members to publish and present findings.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, product specifications, and vendor procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering roles, ideally within the medical device sector.
  • Proficient in rapid prototyping techniques using tools such as FDM and SLA 3D printers, laser cutters, and manual milling machines.
  • Broad experience across various engineering disciplines, including pneumatics, electronics, silicone molding, injection molded plastics, sheet metal, and CNC machining.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with neuroscientists, neurosurgeons, and other engineering professionals.
  • Proficient in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
  • Able to engage in creative problem-solving and manage projects from concept through to production.
