We are seeking a General Manager to oversee our operations at Bow Chika Wow Town.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold the mission, vision, culture, and policies of Destination Pet.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through direct engagement, staff training, and effective resolution of customer issues.
  • Collaborate regularly with Destination Pet Support Staff across various departments (Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Facilities, Legal, etc.).
  • Ensure seamless integration of all pet care services and facilitate cross-training as needed.
  • Lead the team by recruiting, hiring, motivating, training, promoting, counseling, and managing staff performance.
  • Oversee staff scheduling to ensure exceptional service while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Manage payroll processes and ensure timely approval.
  • Work alongside Human Resources to maintain compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Conduct safety training and enforce safety protocols to ensure employee well-being.
  • Provide timely performance reviews for team members.
  • Monitor the needs of pet guests to guarantee their safety and comfort.
  • Address and resolve customer and staff complaints effectively.
  • Manage the center's social media presence through regular updates and customer engagement.
  • Develop and implement local marketing initiatives to attract new clients and increase sales.
  • Participate in community events and collaborate with local businesses to promote services.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and manage supply orders.
  • Oversee all computer systems and address maintenance needs to ensure a safe environment.
  • Utilize financial reports and data for informed decision-making.
  • Handle cash management, including processing payments and balancing cash drawers.
  • Ensure timely completion of bank deposits.
  • Promote Destination Pet's offerings within the community.
  • Support team members as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Must be a dedicated team player and an effective motivator.
  • Strong background in performance management and team leadership.
  • Minimum of five years of full P&L management experience, ideally in hospitality, service, or retail sectors.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality while interacting professionally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service experience is essential.
  • Experience in veterinary, boarding, or grooming services is required.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and accounts payable processes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
  • Comfortable using computer systems and multi-line telephones.
  • Ability to handle dogs on leashes.
  • Willingness to work in environments with exposure to cleaning chemicals and animal dander.
