**Job Summary**
OneMain Financial is seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Specialist to support the daily operations of our payroll department. As a subject matter expert on payroll practices and procedures, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our payroll processes.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Payroll Governance and Compliance**: Analyze, review, and reconcile all aspects of payroll governance and compliance, including tax laws, garnishments, levies, benefit deductions, stock compensation, and W2 preparation.
- **Tax Governance and Compliance**: Manage the administration of tax governance and compliance, including communications to management and employees, and implement system changes as needed.
- **Process Integration**: Ensure payroll administration processes integrate with benefits, compensation, compliance, finance, treasury, tax, accounting, and technology departments.
- **Vendor Management**: Manage third-party relationships with tax jurisdictions and research and resolve issues with vendors and employees.
- **Process Auditing**: Review and audit payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance with all processes related to funding and quarterly and annual tax filings.
- **Project Representation**: Represent the payroll function in company projects where changes to current systems or payroll administration may have an impact.
- **Reporting and Analytics**: Develop and design reports for end-users and provide ad-hoc reporting as needed.
**Requirements**
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience in a company with a total employee population over 5,000
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with tax practices in payroll processing strongly preferred
- Related certification (CPP or FPC) strongly preferred
- Workday experience preferred
