Job DescriptionOverview:
Reed Charters LLC is seeking an Emergency Dispatch Services Specialist for a pivotal role supporting a Department of Defense (DoD) initiative. This position is essential in aiding a Program Management Office that oversees the Emergency Dispatch Services (EDS) Program. The EDS program encompasses all aspects of Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF-P) to ensure a robust and efficient EDS capability is integrated within the Installation Protection framework, aligning with National and DoD standards for public safety and emergency management.

Work Location
The Emergency Dispatch Services Specialist will operate within the Washington DC Metro Area. Client site support may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical assessments of regulations, policies, and industry standards related to emergency management and public safety telecommunications.
  • Manage training program analysis, establish training requirements, develop and uphold EDS training policies, and assess resource needs for the DoD's resource allocation process.
  • Design and implement an annual 9-1-1 Education, Training, and Awareness initiative.
  • Conduct workforce assessments to evaluate facility, structure, and personnel requirements.
  • Coordinate with Capabilities Development and Integration (CD&I) and Program Executive Office Digital & Enterprise Services (PEO Digital) to support the development of Consolidated Emergency Response System (CERS) requirements.
  • Formulate and maintain relevant Plans of Action and Milestone status.
  • Provide logistical support for conferences and meetings, including pre-event planning, on-site coordination, and post-event follow-up.
  • Review and recommend updates to relevant orders, directives, and policies governing dispatch operations.
  • Assist in task management using the Enterprise Task Management Software Solution and Automated Message Handling System.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in emergency dispatch services.
  • Proficient in software applications across various environments, including Windows, Oracle, Citrix, and Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Outstanding organizational, planning, and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
