Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Management Specialist to join our team at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). As a key member of our Office of Response and Recovery, you will play a critical role in coordinating disaster recovery efforts and ensuring the continuity of essential services during emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on disaster recovery issues to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support the implementation of disaster recovery services and programs, analyzing resource requirements and capabilities.
  • Administer FEMA disaster recovery programs, developing policies, guidance, and training to support the recovery of individuals and communities affected by disasters.
  • Prepare reports, information papers, and briefings to inform decision-making and support recovery efforts.
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must pass a background investigation.
  • Selective Service registration required.
  • Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
  • Must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to anywhere in the United States and its territories for an extended period of time.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  • Analyzing resource requirements and capabilities to enable program delivery and performance.
  • Providing coordination and assistance to major activities across the division and with stakeholders.
  • Experience communicating with multiple stakeholder internal and external to the organization.
