The Travel Accounting and Services organization is responsible for providing end-to-end travel services, from making travel reservations to reimbursing employee expenses after the trip. As a key member of this team, the Travel Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of travel and expense reports, purchase card statements, and other accounting documents.
Key Responsibilities- Review and approve travel and expense reports in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring accurate transactions in SAP.
- Assist with reviewing and approving purchase card statements, ensuring transactions are processed in accordance with company policies and accurate expenses and sales taxes are posted in SAP.
- Work closely with employees to interpret company policies and provide guidance on reconciling travel and expense reports and purchase card statements.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing tasks, including accruals, monthly account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Respond to audit requests and provide necessary information.
- Contribute to system and process improvements to support initiatives and projects.
- Perform duties within the travel accounting team, including reconciliation of Concur/SAP interfaces, administering AMEX corporate cards, cost transfers, and airfare reconciliation.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience for the Accounting Specialist II position.
- Experience with corporate card products, including account management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting, accounting systems, and company policies.
- Experience as a functional SAP user or similar ERP tools.
- Experience as a functional user of Concur travel and expense systems or similar expense reimbursement tools.
- Proficiency in standard office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
For the Accounting Specialist III position, additional requirements include 6 or more years of relevant experience.
