Position Overview
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being of our residents by delivering exceptional customer service and providing both physical and emotional support. Your assistance will focus on daily living activities (A.D.L.s) to help residents achieve their highest level of independence.


Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will contribute to the quality of life for our clients through the following tasks:
  • Implement prescribed health care plans accurately and conduct regular rounds to ensure residents' comfort, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Deliver safe and compassionate care, including:

    bathing, feeding, oral hygiene, assisting with dressing, grooming, and mobility; responding promptly to resident calls.

  • Perform a variety of cleaning and sanitary duties, such as:

    emptying and cleaning urinals, commodes, and bedpans; maintaining cleanliness of showers, wheelchairs, and other equipment.

  • Document daily living activities (ADLs), intake and output, and other relevant information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist residents with morning routines and ensure they are transported to dining areas as needed.
  • Change linens and distribute clean towels throughout your shift.
  • Ensure resident safety by identifying and addressing potential hazards promptly.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' conditions and take vital signs as required.
  • Assist in meal service and encourage participation in restorative activities.
  • Address resident disputes or disruptive behavior professionally to maintain a harmonious environment.

Additional Duties
Support your team by:
  • Assisting at the nursing station and answering phones as necessary.
  • Helping in the dining room with meal service and feeding when required.
  • Adhering to the Buckner 5STARS customer service principles and responding promptly to requests for assistance.

Qualifications
To excel in this role, we require the following qualifications:
  • Current Texas Nurse Aide Certification.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Solid understanding of basic health care practices, including infection control.
  • Ability to educate residents on health care measures and improve their use of medical services.
  • Familiarity with the use and monitoring of resident restraints as prescribed.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks associated with the role, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail, as accuracy is crucial in this role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with residents and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following are desirable:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least one year of experience as a nursing assistant or equivalent training.
  • Prior experience in a customer service role.
