Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will positively influence our clients through the following duties:
- Assist in the precise execution of the designated health care plan.
- Conduct regular rounds to ensure the comfort, safety, and hygiene of residents.
- Deliver safe and quality care services, including: bathing, feeding, oral hygiene, dressing, grooming, and transferring residents as needed.
- Perform a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks, such as emptying and cleaning urinals, commodes, and bedpans, as well as maintaining cleanliness of wheelchairs and other equipment.
- Document Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), intake and output, and other relevant information accurately and promptly.
- Assist residents with morning routines and escort them to dining areas as required.
- Change linens and distribute clean towels throughout your shift.
- Ensure resident safety by promptly identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- Monitor and report any changes in resident conditions; take and record vital signs as necessary.
- Safely assist in lifting and repositioning residents when required.
- Collect meal trays in a timely manner and provide snacks to residents daily.
- Encourage participation in restorative activities and assist with recreational programs.
- Intervene professionally in resident conflicts or disturbances to maintain a harmonious environment.
- Support your team with various tasks, including answering phones, assisting in the dining area, and fulfilling other assignments as needed.
- Adhere to the Buckner 5STARS of customer service and respond promptly to requests for assistance.
To thrive in this position and be a valuable member of our team, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Current Texas Nurse Aide Certification.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of fundamental health care practices and infection control procedures.
- Ability to educate residents on health care practices and improve their use of medical services.
- Familiarity with the use and monitoring of resident restraints as prescribed.
- Capability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail, as accuracy is crucial in this role.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, tact, initiative, and confidentiality.
- Skill in recognizing changes in residents' conditions and behaviors.
- Personality suited to the needs of the elderly and the ability to foster effective relationships with colleagues and residents.
In addition to the essential qualifications, we would appreciate candidates who have:
- A High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) and at least one year of experience as a nursing assistant or equivalent training.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
