About the Position
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will enhance the well-being of the community by delivering exceptional customer service while providing both physical and emotional support to assist residents with their daily living activities (A.D.L.s), ensuring they achieve the highest possible level of independence.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will positively influence our clients by fulfilling the following duties:
  • Support the precise execution of the designated health care plan.
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor residents' comfort, safety, and hygiene.
  • Deliver high-quality care and assistance in various tasks, including bathing, feeding, oral hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Perform a wide range of cleaning and sanitation tasks, such as managing urinals, commodes, bedpans, and maintaining cleanliness of equipment.
  • Document daily living activities (ADLs), intake and output, and other relevant information accurately and promptly.
  • Assist residents with morning routines and escort them to dining areas as required.
  • Change linens and distribute clean towels throughout the shift.
  • Ensure resident safety by promptly identifying and addressing potential hazards.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' conditions, including vital signs as necessary.
  • Safely assist in lifting and repositioning residents as needed.
  • Manage meal trays and distribute snacks throughout the day.
  • Encourage participation in restorative activities and assist with engagement in events.
  • Address resident disputes or disruptive behavior professionally to maintain a harmonious environment.
  • Support your team with various tasks, including answering phones and assisting in the dining area.
  • Adhere to the Buckner 5STARS of customer service and respond promptly to requests for assistance.
Qualifications
To excel in this position and contribute effectively to our team, we require the following qualifications:
  • Current certification as a Nurse Aide in Texas.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Understanding of fundamental health care practices and infection control procedures.
  • Ability to educate residents on health care practices and enhance their use of medical services.
  • Familiarity with the use and monitoring of resident restraints as directed by medical professionals.
  • Capability to meet the physical demands of the role, including various movements and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, as errors can have serious consequences.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, tact, initiative, and confidentiality.
  • Skill in recognizing changes in residents' conditions and behaviors.
  • Personality suited to meet the needs of elderly and infirm individuals, fostering effective relationships with colleagues and residents.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the essential qualifications, we would appreciate:
  • A High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) with at least one year of experience as a nursing assistant or equivalent training.
  • Previous experience in customer service roles.
