Position Overview
As a Certified Nursing Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being of our residents by delivering exceptional customer service and providing both physical and emotional support for daily living activities (A.D.L.s). Your efforts will contribute to promoting the highest level of functionality for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will make a meaningful impact through the following duties:
• Implement prescribed health care plans accurately.
• Conduct regular rounds to ensure residents' physical comfort, safety, and cleanliness.
• Deliver high-quality care services, including:
- Bathing and grooming
- Assisting with feeding and oral care
- Supporting mobility and responding to calls
• Provide comprehensive cleaning and sanitary services, such as:
- Managing urinals, commodes, and bedpans
- Maintaining cleanliness of showers, wheelchairs, and other equipment
• Document Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), intakes, outputs, and other relevant information accurately and promptly.
• Assist residents with morning routines and dining needs.
• Ensure safety by identifying and addressing potential hazards immediately.
• Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions, including taking vital signs as necessary.
• Facilitate restorative measures and engage residents in activities.
• Support team operations by:
- Assisting at the nursing station and answering calls
- Helping with meal service in the dining area
- Adapting to various schedules and assignments as required.
Customer Service Excellence
Follow the Buckner 5STARS principles of customer service and respond promptly to requests for assistance or information.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role and be a valuable addition to our team, you should possess the following qualifications:
• Current Texas Nurse Aide Certification
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Knowledge of basic health care practices and infection control procedures
• Ability to instruct residents on health care measures and improve their use of medical services
• Familiarity with the use of resident restraints as prescribed by physicians
• Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Attention to detail is essential, as errors could have serious consequences.
• Ability to exercise patience, tact, initiative, judgment, and confidentiality in accordance with established guidelines.
• Skill in recognizing changes in residents' conditions and maintaining effective working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the essential qualifications, we value:
• High School Diploma (or G.E.D.)
• At least one year of prior experience as a nursing assistant or equivalent training
• Previous experience in customer service.
