Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Director to join our team at Superior Insurance Partners.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in M&A and business development, with a proven track record of identifying and executing high-quality acquisition opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and evaluate potential acquisition targets within a dedicated geographic region
  • Build and maintain relationships with small business owners and negotiate deal terms
  • Partner with senior leadership to set and execute strategy
  • Assist other business development officers in obtaining new business and retaining existing relationships
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contacts, customers, and brokers to maintain and expand business
  • Lead due diligence, valuation analysis, and proposal development for potential acquisition candidates
  • Help build post-transaction value creation plans with owners to ensure a successful investment post-close

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of M&A experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or direct lending
  • Prior experience communicating directly with small business owners
  • Prior cold calling experience
  • Prior experience at a multi-site acquisition-driven organization
  • Team player and self-starter
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office products
  • Local to or willing to relocate to Chicago
