The Community Manager is responsible for the overall performance and maintenance of their assigned apartment community, ensuring each team member is managed and residents are satisfied with their apartment home and its condition.

This role requires exceptional customer service skills, as well as the ability to oversee day-to-day operations, reputation management, financial performance, and occupancy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train, develop, and supervise a team of up to but no more than: Assistant Community Manager, Leasing Associates or Leasing Team, Service Supervisor, Service Technician, Porter, and Housekeepers.
  • Oversee collections and manage vendor solicitations and payments.
  • Act in accordance with FAM Residential Inc. policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate staff compliance with leasing and operational guidelines.
  • Meet budgeted income, expense, and leasing goals for their respective community.
  • Match or exceed budgeted occupancy and annual community goals.
  • Be a champion for the operational strategy and FAM Residential Inc. policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the annual budget process and submit financial reports.
  • Submit or speak to market conditions to determine unit prices.
  • Shop competitors in person every quarter with the Regional Manager.
  • Submit an annual marketing plan and conduct marketing reviews.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years people management experience.
  • 3+ years operational experience in a multifamily setting.
  • Demonstrated coaching and development ability.
  • High school or GED degree and equivalent professional experience.
  • Government-issued, valid driver's license.
  • Financial acumen with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional presence.
  • Experience using Yardi or similar is desirable.
  • A basic understanding of written and verbal English.
  • Must demonstrate ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to understand directives both orally and in writing.
  • Must present a professional image.
  • Must be resourceful and well-organized.
