- Manage the development and implementation of employee relations programs, including employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
- Collaborate with college presidents, vice chancellors, and other senior leaders to develop and implement district-wide human resource strategies.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors on human resource-related matters, including performance management, employee development, and conflict resolution.
- Develop and manage the district's budget for human resources, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with district priorities.
- Serve as a liaison to the Board of Trustees, providing regular updates and recommendations on human resource-related matters.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in human resources, ensuring the district remains compliant and competitive.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in a related field.
- Five years of formal, increasingly responsible and varied public-sector experience in administering a comprehensive human resource management and human resource development program.
- Knowledge and understanding of student, staff, faculty, and management roles and responsibilities in the higher education environment.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of Community College students.
- Master's degree or Doctorate from an accredited higher education institution.
- Leadership experience in higher education institutions, specifically California Community Colleges.
- Demonstrated ability to promote and implement quality improvement initiatives.
