Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Abuse Pediatrician to join our team at the Children's Hospital of Richmond of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. As a key member of our General Pediatric Division, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients and families affected by abuse and neglect, while also contributing to our research and education initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical expertise in child abuse and neglect, including evaluation and treatment of patients
  • Teach and mentor learners at all levels, including residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives in child abuse and neglect
  • Participate in statewide training and education programs on child abuse and neglect
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community organizations to enhance care and services for children affected by abuse and neglect
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in Child Abuse Pediatrics
  • Experience in clinical care of patients ages birth to 21
  • Experience in education and teaching
  • Experience in research and quality improvement
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced training in clinical research and/or epidemiology
  • Experience in securing research grants and contracts
  • Expertise in setting up unique systems of care for children who have experienced trauma
