Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team at 21c Museum Hotels. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently cooking hot food products, preparing and portioning food products prior to cooking, and performing other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and execute menu items properly, utilizing techniques and ingredients to deliver high-quality dishes.
- Report to work on time and be ready to work scheduled shifts, demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork and a positive attitude.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve common goals, maintaining a clean and organized work station at all times.
- Utilize various cooking methods and techniques to prepare a wide range of dishes, including proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, and dry goods.
- Participate in ongoing training and development, actively seeking feedback and applying constructive criticism to improve performance.
- Identify and address product quality and freshness issues, ensuring that all food served meets the highest standards.
- Assist in station set up and pars, supporting sous chefs in ordering and writing prep lists for the next day.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a related culinary role.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and menu planning.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification a plus.
