Executive Chef

Position Summary:The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of the hotel, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment. This position works closely with the Food and Beverage Director to create menus, develop recipes, manage inventory, and maintain budgetary goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation and production in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
- Create innovative menus that cater to a variety of tastes and dietary restrictions.
- Lead and manage a team of chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintain inventory levels and control food costs by utilizing proper portion control techniques.
- Ensure that all food produced meets or exceeds guest expectations in terms of taste, presentation, quality, and consistency.
- Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating performance, and disciplining employees in the culinary department.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen by enforcing proper sanitation procedures.
- Develop relationships with local vendors to source fresh ingredients at competitive prices.
- Work closely with the Food and Beverage Director to create a budget for the culinary department while ensuring profitability goals are met.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and new cooking techniques to continuously improve menu offerings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a hotel or fine-dining restaurant setting.
- A culinary degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Proven track record of creating successful menus that cater to different tastes and dietary needs.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards achieving goals.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for kitchen operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
