Role Overview:
The Client Benefits Coordinator is a pivotal position within Evergreen Treatment Services, specifically within the REACH program. This role is designed to assist staff in enrolling and maintaining individuals in various public assistance programs. The Coordinator will serve as a knowledgeable resource, educator, and problem-solver for direct service personnel as they guide clients through the complexities of benefits systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support REACH staff in navigating public benefits, ensuring clients receive the necessary assistance.
• Provide direct support to clients facing challenges in accessing entitlements, including outreach efforts to unsheltered individuals.
• Collaborate with community organizations to enhance training and support for service providers.
• Identify gaps in the benefits system and advocate for improvements based on client feedback.
Essential Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required; relevant lived experience may substitute for formal education.
• Minimum of four years of experience in outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness and substance use challenges.
• Strong understanding of addiction and harm reduction practices.
Skills and Competencies:
• Knowledge of racial justice and social equity principles.
• Ability to establish effective relationships with diverse clients and staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to technological changes.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Working Conditions:
• The role may involve exposure to biohazardous materials; appropriate training will be provided.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, and engage in various physical activities as needed.
