Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic Horizon Management Accounting team.

This role is responsible for managing accounts payable functions, providing support with accounts receivables, and other accounting tasks. You will be the key person in ensuring timely payments, maintaining accurate records, and communicating effectively with vendors and internal personnel.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Receiving, sorting, and routing invoices for approval, as well as verifying accuracy and investigating discrepancies.
  • Managing vendor information, including obtaining W-9 forms, and updating records as necessary.
  • Entering invoices into accounting software, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Coordinating the weekly check run, distributing checks to vendors and employees, and handling 1099 processing.
  • Maintaining general recordkeeping, suggesting process improvements, and enhancing overall accounting team efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required, prior experience in general office procedures and accounts payable preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in ten-key (15,000 keystrokes per hour) and Microsoft Office software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow up effectively, working independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, write, and operate a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Frequent communication with customers and occasional lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.

Compensation:

Hourly wage: $20-$24
