Administrative Assistant III Specialist

This is a highly responsible role involving performance of a number of varied tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in advanced clerical and secretarial work.
The Administrative Assistant III role requires the exercise of judgment in the application of prescribed procedures and methods to various matters. Employees in this class work under general supervision.
Key responsibilities include taking and transcribing dictation, typing purchase orders and reports, scheduling business appointments, serving as receptionist, answering telephone calls, reading and routing incoming mail, composing correspondence, handling complaints, compiling reports, and maintaining accounts receivable.
Other duties may include preparing payroll for department, maintaining time and attendance records, reviewing outgoing mail for errors, ordering supplies, operating a computer, fax machine, copier, and multi-function telephone, attending meetings, dispatching automotive equipment, and performing other administrative tasks as assigned.
To be successful in this role, the individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in advanced clerical and secretarial work. They should also have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and be able to develop good personal relationships with colleagues and the public.
The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
