Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Teacher Aide at the Institute for the Redesign of Learning. In this 30-hour-per-week position, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners while working collaboratively with a supportive and experienced team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with exceptional needs to access and engage in their curriculum or school activity.
  • Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Help supervise students in class, between classes, during lunch and recess, and on field trips.
  • Meet with teachers to review daily lesson plans and contribute information and ideas as appropriate.
  • Work with students in a one-on-one or small group situation to reinforce instruction and help them learn specific academic skills.
  • Observe and support students in controlling their behavior through the use of positive behavior strategies, de-escalation techniques, competence builders, and other tools and techniques.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner as defined by company policy or State legal requirements.
  • Participate in special programs with students as required.
  • Assist in maintaining the health and safety of students by being aware of the environment and the potential of student actions.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma
  • Complete and pass a job-related health screening
  • Willing to participate and complete an in-house, 10-week training program
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • CPR and First Aid Certificates are required but can be provided via in-house training
  • Must clear a current background check through the FBI & DOJ
  • A current TB test (within 2 months)
