Job Title: MSW Core Faculty

Job Summary:

The MSW Core Faculty position at Pacific Oaks College is a critical role in delivering high-quality instruction and overseeing field education programs. As a key member of the Master of Social Work (MSW) program, the successful candidate will teach courses, advise students, contribute to curriculum development, and assist with field education administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Teach 24 credits per academic year, develop and manage curriculum, and update syllabi and course shells as needed.
  • Student Support and Advisement: Advise and mentor students on academic, career, and personal development, and provide virtual office hours.
  • Field Education Management and Assessment: Assist with recruiting and assessing field sites, coordinate student placements, and address conflicts between students, field instructors, and agencies.
  • Institutional Support: Participate in MSW program events, provide leadership and support to adjunct faculty, and assist with CSWE accreditation processes.
Requirements:
  • Education: Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)-accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of post-MSW practice experience in social work.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education/Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or license-eligible in the state of residence, and/or a Doctorate in Social Work or a related field.
  • Experience: 3 years of post-MSW practice experience, with at least 2 years in field education administration, teaching field seminars, and/or providing field instruction.
Working Conditions:

The position is based in Pasadena, California, with the possibility of remote work. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderately noisy while in the office, and the office temperature is about 70 degrees.

Decision Making:

The position requires independent judgment in the supervision of personnel and the carrying out of the department's strategic goals and budget management.Contact Responsibilities:

The position does not require the management of budgets, but it is required to follow Pacific Oaks policies for purchasing and budget approvals.
