We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at Alcom of Maine. Key Responsibilities- Production Management: Supervise a team of production workers to meet daily production targets, balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale.
- Scheduling and Labor Management: Oversee the employee schedule to ensure adequate labor is available to meet production targets, maintaining labor rates within established ranges and seeking to improve efficiencies.
- Performance Management: Manage the performance of subordinates by setting expectations and goals, ensuring that employees receive timely and constructive feedback, and ensuring compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations.
- Employee Development: Ensure a well-rounded team through cross-training, develop subordinates by offering challenging assignments, and discuss opportunities for growth.
- Communication: Ensure sufficient communication from lead technicians to production managers, and review work orders to identify potential issues to avoid delays in production.
- Quality Control: Ensure that finished products meet quality expectations, striving for the highest level of quality and understanding the need for continuous improvement.
- Safety and Housekeeping: Maintain a safe and clean production floor, adhering to all safety policies and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Education and Experience: Minimum hands-on experience working with a variety of power tools, previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, and previous supervisory experience required.
- Leadership and Planning: Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others in a positive manner, and ability to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span.
- Supervision and Training: Supervision, including employee hiring and retention, performance review, and discipline, as well as employee training and development.
- Measurement and Analysis: Ability to measure performance to goals and standards, and analyze problems to resolve them.
- Inventory Management: Ability to manage inventory and maintain a well-organized production floor.
- Communication and Teamwork: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
