Role Overview

We are currently seeking experienced candidates for the role of Pilot in Command for a Challenger CL300 aircraft based in Chicago, IL. This position operates under a two-pilot system, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, primarily flying owner-operated flights under part 135 and part 91 regulations. The flying schedule is predominantly domestic, with occasional international trips to destinations such as the Caribbean and Mexico, averaging 250 flight hours annually.

This role emphasizes work-life balance, allowing the crew to enjoy scheduled days off each month. Trip planning is conducted in advance, and travel home is frequently permitted during extended layovers.

Please note: This position requires residency within a reasonable commuting distance of the designated airport.

The Pilot in Command (PIC) is entrusted with the ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. The PIC must adhere to all regulatory and company standards while ensuring an exceptional service experience for passengers.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:

  • Guarantees that crew assignments and trip plans comply with all regulatory and company standards.
  • Conducts flight planning, performance assessments, and weight and balance calculations as necessary.
  • Employs Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) methodology to lead briefings and mitigate operational risks.
  • Adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and collaborates with relevant personnel as needed. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as per company policy.
  • Completes all pre-flight checks, including verifying the aircraft's maintenance status to ensure mission readiness. Documents any discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
  • Monitors and ensures the completion of all aircraft ground servicing tasks (e.g., fueling, oil checks) as per SOPs.
  • Conducts passenger briefings in line with company policy and regulatory requirements, delivering top-tier customer service and accommodating special needs.
  • Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate effectively with crew and support staff during all phases of operation.

Providing Exceptional Service:

  • Delivers high-quality service to owners and passengers while actively seeking opportunities to enhance the overall service experience. Investigates and resolves any service-related issues promptly.
  • Works collaboratively with fellow crew members and internal partners to ensure a consistent service experience. Effectively addresses conflicts and challenges.

Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:

  • Ensures ongoing compliance with regulatory and company training requirements.
  • Participates in the company Safety Management System (SMS) and reports any safety or compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.
Qualifications and Experience

4-6 years of relevant experience in aviation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Preferred experience in corporate or business aviation.
  • Possession of an FAA Type rating for the applicable aircraft.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the role.
  • Total flight time: 3500 hours.
  • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours.
  • Pilot in Command: 2000 hours.
  • PIC MEL: 500 hours.
  • Instrument: 300 hours.
  • Jet: 500 hours.
