Position Overview

In this role, you will engage in high-level research initiatives that concentrate on advanced wastewater management techniques. You will work alongside other specialists in the domain, enjoying greater independence compared to standard Environmental Research Scientists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigating cutting-edge technologies for wastewater and sludge management as well as various elements of environmental and sanitary engineering.
  • Crafting technical documentation, publishing research articles, and compiling reports on research outcomes.
  • Addressing operational challenges at treatment facilities and contributing to monitoring programs.
  • Aiding in the design of treatment systems and supervising testing procedures.
  • Overseeing and directing laboratory, pilot, and field investigations.
  • Mentoring and assessing the performance of team members.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Evaluating technical reports and collaborating with various departments and external organizations.
  • Presenting findings related to research initiatives.
  • Managing administrative responsibilities such as procurement and financial transactions.
  • Executing other duties as required.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of wastewater and sludge treatment methodologies.
  • Expertise in wastewater management practices, research methodologies, and analytical approaches.
  • Awareness of environmental regulations and proficiency in statistical analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess a master's degree in water resource management, environmental studies, environmental engineering, or sanitary engineering from a recognized institution. A minimum of three years of research experience in wastewater and sludge treatment technologies is also required.

Note: Advanced studies beyond a master's degree may be considered as a substitute for up to two years of the required experience.

Promotion Requirement

  • One year of prior experience as an Environmental Research Scientist within the organization.
  • Current civil service status as an Environmental Research Scientist.
