Kaiser Permanente is looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Internal Medicine to join our dedicated team.

Position Overview

The Clinical Nurse Specialist plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, ensuring that their medical needs are met through collaboration with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments across multiple systems, including physical, psychological, and social factors. Identify any abnormalities in routine diagnostic tests and continuously monitor patient status throughout their care.
  • Nursing Care Planning: Create individualized care plans that reflect the unique needs of each patient. Coordinate care activities with various departments and community resources, ensuring a seamless transition for patients.
  • Implementation of Care: Execute nursing interventions based on established protocols for both medical and surgical patients. Ensure accurate documentation of care provided and adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Evaluation of Care: Regularly assess the effectiveness of care plans and patient responses to treatments. Engage in quality assurance initiatives to enhance care delivery.
Qualifications:Experience:
  • At least nine (9) months of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Education:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Licensure and Certification:
  • Valid Registered Nurse License in the relevant state.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within three months of employment.
Additional Skills:
  • Proficient in computer keyboarding.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required upon completion of the ICU internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in healthcare settings.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Experience with vasopressor administration and ventilator management.
  • Familiarity with cardiac rhythm recognition.
