Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing quality professional human resource services to employees, interpreting policies and procedures, and providing guidance on benefits, leave, FLSA, payroll, and other human resource functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on human resource policies and procedures to employees and management
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including benefits, leave, and payroll information
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
  • Collaborate with management and employees to resolve issues and concerns related to human resources
  • Stay up-to-date with federal and state laws, policies, and procedures related to human resources
Requirements
  • Extensive working knowledge of generalist human resource functions, including leave administration, complex payroll transactions, employee benefits, and workers compensation
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State laws, policies, and procedures related to human resources
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and apply human resource policies and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advance knowledge in Human Resources, a related field, or equivalent applicable experience or training
  • Professional Human Resources certification
