Job Title: Lead Cook

At Columbia Gorge Hotel Hood River, OR, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cook to join our culinary team.

Job Summary:

The Lead Cook will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of high-quality food products in our kitchen. This includes managing inventory, supervising staff, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, staff supervision, and food preparation.
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of food products.
  • Develop and implement menu planning and pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to achieve financial and operational goals.
  • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Certification in the culinary field.
  • Three years of culinary experience.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Food Handler's Card.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for entire shift.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal courteously and tactfully with employees and the general public.
