Position Overview:
This position is part of the Lewis County Public Works Department, specifically within the Fleet Services Division. The Fleet Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the County's fleet program, overseeing asset acquisitions, surplus management, and the fuel system database, along with vehicle and equipment specifications.

The successful candidate will possess experience with fleet management software, government procurement processes, and familiarity with the PetroVend cardlock fuel system.

New hires are required to complete a six-month probationary period before achieving permanent status in this role.


Key Responsibilities:

The following duties represent a summary of the primary responsibilities associated with this position:

  • Administers the fleet management software for work orders, inventory, operating costs, and insurance, while monitoring fleet usage and maintenance expenses.
  • Maintains the fuel card user database and oversees fuel supply contracts, investigating any unusual fuel usage patterns.
  • Prepares Equipment Rental & Revolving (ER&R) reports for departmental cost allocation and assists in developing vehicle and equipment rental rates.
  • Coordinates the creation of technical specifications for departmental vehicle and equipment requests.
  • Researches and recommends vehicle and equipment purchases, exploring procurement methods in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Assists in calculating ER&R rental rates for the county-wide fleet.
  • Maintains a database to document, analyze, and generate cost, usage, and revenue reports.
