Overview:
Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) provides comprehensive healthcare services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Greater Boston. Our mission is to ensure equitable and dignified access to healthcare for all individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

About the Role:
The Woods Mullen Patient Benefits Coordinator will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to support patients in accessing healthcare benefits and services. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the supervising clinical staff to determine priorities and work assignments.
  • Communicate proactively with the clinic team and collaborating partners to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Collect, collate, and record information into applicable databases in a timely fashion.
  • Manage appointment schedules, coordinate specialty medications ordering and tracking, and maintain equipment and medical inventory logs and records per standards.

Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a medical setting and with insurance/benefits enrollment preferred.
  • Proficient reading and writing skills in English.
  • Computer skills preferred, including MS Office, e-referrals, MMIS, Virtual Gateway, NEHEN, EPIC, Azara, and basic office equipment operation.
