Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in applied biochemistry within a team focused on developing innovative solutions for combating diseases and medical challenges;
  • Enhance biochemistry research capabilities;
  • Advance laboratory automation technologies;
  • Support both in-vitro and in-vivo efforts in the development of next-generation base-editing technologies and novel drug delivery systems;
  • Refine biochemical delivery mechanisms;
  • Investigate discovery science;
  • Complete development projects and assignments in biochemistry;
  • Transform bench-top scientific processes into fully automated biotechnological workflows by validating liquid handlers and integrating automation systems;
  • Develop actionable strategies to alleviate operational bottlenecks while improving throughput and quality of biochemical data from existing processes;
  • Conduct biochemical testing focused on pharmaceutical candidates;
  • Generate documentation, troubleshoot, and provide support for automation-related challenges;
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer regarding methods developed in biochemistry and biotechnology;
  • Collaborate across functions to implement new technologies, protocols, and techniques aimed at creating cutting-edge biotechnology solutions and enhancing internal automation infrastructure for discovery science and innovation in biochemistry and related fields;
  • Design and execute strategies that contribute to the development of novel therapeutic products in biochemistry and biotechnology; engage in technology transfer related to the therapy product portfolio; generate and optimize method protocols, including standard operating procedures;
  • Support process development and optimization; analyze data, including its design, display, and visualization; evaluate experimental results in biochemistry;
  • Share findings internally, reporting development and analysis;
  • Participate in internal team meetings and discussions, assisting in generating records used in these; document results and findings in a technically accurate, scientifically sound, and comprehensible manner;
  • Provide support to senior staff;
  • Stay informed on relevant literature in the field.
Qualifications:

To qualify, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent in biochemistry, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, or a related discipline, along with:
  • Experience in laboratory automation;
  • Proficiency with liquid handlers;
  • Familiarity with specific laboratory automation equipment from manufacturers such as Hamilton Vantage, Labcyte/Beckman Echo, HighRes Biosolutions, Precise Robotics, and Tecan Fluent;
  • Experience in high-throughput sample preparation and processing;
  • Expertise in next-generation sequencing;
  • Knowledge of laboratory information management systems, specifically including Benchling.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in all of the aforementioned areas, demonstrated through appropriate graduate-level coursework, research, or laboratory work.
Alternatively, candidates may qualify with a Master's degree or its foreign equivalent in biochemistry, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, or a related field, plus:
  • Experience in laboratory automation;
  • Proficiency with liquid handlers;
  • Familiarity with specific laboratory automation equipment from manufacturers such as Hamilton Vantage, Labcyte/Beckman Echo, HighRes Biosolutions, Precise Robotics, and Tecan Fluent;
  • Experience in high-throughput sample preparation and processing;
  • Expertise in next-generation sequencing;
  • Knowledge of laboratory information management systems, specifically including Benchling.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in all of the aforementioned areas, demonstrated through appropriate graduate-level coursework, research, or laboratory work.
Additional Information:
  • This is a permanent, full-time opportunity;
  • The role does not require travel, as it is primarily laboratory-based;
  • Telecommuting is not permitted due to the laboratory-based nature of the work;
  • Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance;
  • This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities over other personnel and is intended for a hands-on individual contributor role.
