The North Clackamas School District is seeking a Paraeducator to support elementary students in a part-time, permanent position. The ideal candidate will have experience working with culturally diverse families and communities, and possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
Responsibilities- Assist teachers in assessment, curriculum support, and student interactions
- Implement behavior support and intervention plans as directed by a teacher
- Provide limited first aid and assess injuries to determine if nursing care is needed
- Communicate with students, parents, and staff while maintaining student confidentiality
- Manage student behavior to ensure safety and intervene when necessary
- Provide instructional support and tutoring to students in various settings
- Oversee student safety during activities such as recess and playground supervision
- Perform clerical duties as needed
- Successful experience working with culturally diverse families and communities
- Associate's degree or two years of post-high school education in a related field
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain student confidentiality and follow district policies and procedures
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field
- Two years of experience working with children in a learning environment
- Bilingual and bicultural skills in Spanish or other common languages to the district
The North Clackamas School District offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including a 6% differential for bilingual employees. We also provide opportunities for professional growth and development.
Please note that the district participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) and requires a mandatory employee portion of 6% for eligible employees.
