Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled VP Operations Director to join our team at Methodist Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning, development, and opening of our new Methodist Celina Medical Center, as well as overseeing several corporate functions and managing projects at a system level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the new medical center, including short- and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Lead the development of a sound business plan for the hospital, including program development, facilities management, operating efficiencies, and physician resources.
  • Collaborate with corporate construction to design the facility and oversee the build process, ensuring an efficient and aesthetically pleasing physical design.
  • Develop a master plan for the campus, considering growth and expansion for a hospital of beds.
  • Manage the system laboratory function and serve as the system liaison to the DeSoto SNF.
  • Participate on system-level committees as assigned by the President/COO.
  • Lead negotiations of system-level contracts as assigned by the President/COO.
  • Participate in system-wide growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Maintain professional growth and development.
  • Represent the hospital at professional and civic organizations to advance the profile of Methodist Health System in the Metroplex.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals to ensure their needs are met and the reputation of the system is enhanced.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of operational experience in healthcare.
  • Masters degree in Business or Healthcare Administration required.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving objectives within a multi-organizational healthcare system.
  • Demonstrated experience providing effective leadership in a competitive market.
  • A demonstrated track record as an effective leader in hospitals or healthcare systems with a demonstrated ability to improve the organization's overall performance.
  • Demonstrated success in aligning various stakeholders' needs and expectations and leading through a style of negotiation that results in 'win-win solutions'.
  • Demonstrated ability to enhance internal and external relationships, service, quality, operational, and financial performance and to contribute to enhancement of the overall culture of an organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in thinking 'out of the box' and improving performance and creating opportunities.
  • Demonstrated synergistic leadership with physician staff.
  • Excellent relationship skills, particularly with physicians.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver financial and operational plans.

  • Current or previous knowledge of the North Texas Healthcare Market is a plus.
