Job Overview

The role of the Client Quantitative Analyst I involves supporting analytical initiatives across various projects within a designated Line of Business. This position is pivotal in utilizing databases to gather client and performance metrics, transforming this data into actionable insights, and presenting these findings to leadership for informed decision-making. The analyst will collaborate with business partners to comprehend, prioritize, and deliver on agreed objectives while effectively communicating complex data results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in data extraction using various programming languages, including SQL, SAS, Python, or Spark/Scala, while applying knowledge of both relational and non-relational database systems across hybrid platforms.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources and execute necessary transformations, leveraging technical, business, and procedural knowledge to derive meaningful insights.
  • Conduct quantitative analyses on customer, transaction, and performance data, guided by inquiries from business partners, to provide actionable insights.
  • Adhere to requirements set by analysts and supervisors to perform thorough research and analytics on relevant data sources, ensuring accurate deliverables.
  • Simplify complex topics for both technical and non-technical stakeholders using tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Tableau.
  • Support quality assurance processes by conducting comparison checks on analysis outputs and reporting any discrepancies to leadership.
  • Follow established quality workflows and documentation standards to ensure business continuity.

Specific Information for the Line of Business:

This position will engage with Consumer and Small Business Anti-Money Laundering teams to analyze their data, processes, and technologies, supporting strategic data initiatives and addressing deficiencies. The analyst will develop a comprehensive understanding of data domains, supporting systems, data governance, and risk management principles in financial services.

The analyst will ensure quality and consistency by utilizing standardized templates and tools, promoting high-quality deliverables across business lines. Additionally, the analyst will document the complete data lineage ecosystem for Consumer and Small Business Anti-Money Laundering.

Collaboration and Documentation:

The analyst will work closely with the Data Lineage Leader to:

  • Consult with data stewards, process owners, and subject matter experts to gather information on current and target state business processes, data attributes, and necessary controls.
  • Document processes, data models, quality controls, and data dictionaries using industry-standard methods, including diagrams and flow charts.
  • Analyze information from various sources, resolve conflicts, and distill high-level information into detailed insights.
  • Identify deficiencies against internal policies and industry best practices, providing recommendations for remediation.
  • Collaborate with technology teams and stakeholders to drive solutions that enhance operational excellence.
  • Review technical solution designs from a business perspective and suggest alternatives.
  • Communicate plans, progress, and risks effectively to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, systems analysis, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Consumer & Small Business Banking.
  • Understanding of SQL programming and experience with databases such as Oracle and Hadoop.
  • Experience collaborating with compliance and audit teams to build a robust program.
  • Knowledge of Risk Management and Data Management Principles.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with lineage software such as Collibra.
  • Project and issue management experience.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture designs.
  • Experience with Python programming.
  • Expertise in financial services and knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
