This position is dedicated to facilitating analytical initiatives across various projects within a specific Line of Business or operational area. The primary duties encompass utilizing databases to gather client and performance metrics, converting the acquired data into insightful trends, and presenting these findings to leadership for informed decision-making. Expectations include collaborating with business stakeholders to comprehend, coordinate, and fulfill established priorities while effectively communicating complex data results and providing necessary summaries and data insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Aids in the extraction of data through diverse programming languages, including SQL, SAS, Python, or Spark/Scala, while demonstrating proficiency in both relational and non-relational database systems on hybrid platforms. Integrates data from multiple sources and executes essential transformations by applying technical, business, and procedural knowledge to derive meaningful insights. Conducts quantitative analyses on customer, transaction, and performance data under the guidance of senior analysts, addressing inquiries from business partners and delivering actionable insights. Adheres to requirements set by senior analysts to perform research, analytics, and exploration on suitable data sources to produce relevant deliverables. Articulates complex topics in a clear and engaging manner to both technical and non-technical business partners using tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Tableau. Assists in executing quality assurance checks on analytical outputs and escalates any data discrepancies or issues to management. Complies with quality workflow processes and documentation standards to ensure business continuity.

Specific Information for the Line of Business:

This role will engage with Consumer and Small Business Anti-Money Laundering teams to evaluate their data, processes, and technologies, supporting strategic data initiatives and addressing deficiencies.

The analyst will develop a comprehensive understanding of data domains, supporting systems, data governance, and risk management principles within financial services.

This position will ensure quality and consistency while utilizing standardized templates, tools, and design practices to enhance deliverables and maintain uniform practices across business lines.

The analyst will ultimately document the complete data lineage ecosystem for Consumer and Small Business Anti-Money Laundering.

The analyst will collaborate with the Data Lineage Leader to:


• Consult with data stewards, process owners, subject matter experts, technical specialists, end users, and other stakeholders to gather insights about current and target state business processes, data attributes, and necessary controls.


• Document and define processes, data models, quality controls, data lineage, and data dictionaries using standard methodologies, including business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, diagrams, and flow charts.


• Analyze information from various sources, resolve conflicts, break down high-level information into details, and synthesize low-level information into a broader understanding.


• Identify deficiencies against internal policies and industry best practices, providing formal recommendations to address them.


• Collaborate with technology teams, architects, and key stakeholders to drive solutions that ensure operational excellence and resilience in metadata and control environments.


• Review and provide input on technical solution designs from a business perspective and suggest alternatives.


• Communicate plans, progress, and risks effectively to stakeholders and sponsors.

Required Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, systems analysis, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.


• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.


• Experience with multiple databases, data structures, data modeling, and data mapping.


• Familiarity with business process design and data provisioning.


• Proficient in SQL programming and understanding of database systems.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines.


• Familiarity with Consumer & Small Business Banking.


• Experience working with compliance and audit teams to establish a robust program.


• Understanding of risk management and data management principles.

Desired Qualifications:


• Experience with data lineage software such as Collibra.


• Project and issue management experience.


• Understanding of enterprise architecture designs.


• Experience with Python programming.


• Knowledge of financial services.


• Expertise in Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and sanctions.
