Specimen Processing Specialist

Job Summary:

The Specimen Processing Specialist is responsible for providing general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department. This role requires a strong data entry background and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy and efficiency
• Assist with specimen processing, including A-station, presort, and pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and compliance policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including laboratory personnel and management

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic understanding of computers and laboratory testing
• Previous laboratory experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to work in a biohazard environment and maintain good safety habits

Work Environment:

The Specimen Processing Department is a production environment with an emphasis on productivity and quality standards.
