Bayone is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Specimen Processing Assistant to join our team in the Technical Operations Department.

Job Summary:

The Specimen Processing Assistant will be responsible for providing general support functions within the Technical Operations Department, including specimen handling, sorting, and storage. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sort and rack specimens for laboratory testing
  • Pickup and delivery of specimens to the laboratory
  • Specimen storage and retrieval
  • Centrifugation and aliquoting of specimens
  • Identify and resolve problems with specimen types and missing information
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical background preferred, including medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory
  • Previous experience in a production environment preferred
  • Familiarity with mainframe computers preferred
Working Conditions:

The Specimen Processing Assistant will work in a biohazard environment, adhering to all applicable safety requirements. The ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and maneuver large carts and/or racks with specimens is required.
