Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
- Support the decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of surgical instruments.
- Pass instruments to the physician during surgical procedures, ensuring accurate tracking of instruments and supplies.
- Prepare the surgical operating room with necessary drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring all are in good working order.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to provide patient care.

Educational and Certification Requirements:

- Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technologist Program (Required)
- BLS Certification from American Heart Association or equivalent (Required)

Additional Information:

- Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking, effective communication, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond appropriately to challenges.
- Work Experience: No prior experience necessary. Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

- Frequent bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting/carrying patients weighing 35 pounds or more.
- Regular use of hands for repetitive movements and keyboard entry.
- Ability to work in a variety of conditions, including exposure to biohazardous waste and potential for physical hazards.
