Job Title: Horizontal Construction Engineer

About the Job:
As a Horizontal Construction Engineer in the Army National Guard, you will play a crucial role in the construction process. Your responsibilities will include operating heavy equipment, such as bulldozers and roadgraders, to clear and prepare construction sites. You will also be responsible for leveling earth for runways and roadbeds, clearing and excavating areas of construction sites, and spreading fill material.

Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze information on grade stakes and place them accurately
• Cut and spread fill material with a scraper
• Operate heavy equipment, such as bulldozers and roadgraders
• Assist in the performance of combat engineer missions

What You'll Learn:
• Maintenance and repair of equipment
• Identification of soil types and placement of grade stakes
• Heavy construction equipment operation

Requirements:
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
• Must meet citizenship requirements
