Position: Tax Intern - Specializing in Credits, Incentives & Accounting Methods

Role Overview

As an intern at RSM, you will collaborate with a diverse range of clients, from large corporations to small businesses across various sectors. You will cultivate strong relationships with clients by gaining insights into their operations and challenges.

In your role within the Credits and Incentives group, specifically focusing on Accounting Methods, your responsibilities will revolve around two key principles: your technical and quality expertise, alongside delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in tax strategy development and research related to elements influencing the timing of income or deductions.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of clients' businesses and industries to identify potential tax planning opportunities.
  • Support the execution of multiple projects concurrently, which will involve client consultations, data collection, analysis, calculations, and preparation of tax documentation.
  • Document facts and positions while drafting technical memoranda.
  • Communicate effectively and respond promptly to both internal and external inquiries to facilitate the success of engagements.
  • Enhance your knowledge through ongoing education and pursue additional professional certifications.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Completion of 90 credit hours.
  • Pursuing a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Major in Accounting.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as necessary, with reliable transportation.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
