Role Responsibilities:
The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the engineering contractor and ensuring the delivery of project engineering outputs.
This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and various client resources to ensure that project goals align with design specifications, functionality, operability, maintainability, constructability, quality, cost efficiency, and timelines.
Key Duties:- Promote and visibly support Incident-Free Culture (IFC) principles through workshops as necessary.
- Enhance Human Performance principles and foster a learning organization by engaging with employees involved in the work.
- Ensure compliance with COPA document and records management (DRM) policies for all files and communications.
- Utilize CPMS AK standards and practices effectively across all projects based on size and risk.
- Ensure that functional requirements and specifications are clearly understood by the engineering contractor.
- Organize engineering material and equipment orders to guarantee suppliers meet specifications and engineering requirements within budget and schedule.
- Monitor and evaluate engineering contractor performance against established cost and schedule benchmarks.
- Ensure that contractor resource needs for the project are well-planned and available as required.
- Maintain organized documentation of communications and directives between contracted teams and project management.
- Validate that the contractor has fulfilled the scope of work and delivered all necessary outputs as per contract terms and CPMSAK.
- Facilitate timely resolution of engineering queries during fabrication and construction phases.
- Develop the Engineering Plan as part of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) as assigned by the Engineering & Commissioning Manager.
- Monitor project execution against the plan and communicate any deviations that may indicate scope changes, updating the PEP accordingly.
- Identify and communicate technical and execution risks that may impact business and project objectives.
- Collaborate with environmental permitting specialists to prepare all necessary documentation for securing project permits.
- Ensure adherence to the engineering change management process to maintain technical integrity.
- Coordinate engineering support for procurement of materials and services essential for the design, fabrication, and installation of required facilities.
- Incorporate constructability feedback into project design.
- Schedule and conduct CPMSAK Design Review and Acceptance Practice (DRAP).
- Ensure that process hazard reviews and safety in design standards are utilized and documented.
- Identify, document, and obtain approval for any specification deviations and adaptations from the COPA Technical Authority.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an engineer in oil and gas facilities.
