Position Overview

The Engineering Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the engineering contractor and ensuring the acceptance of project engineering outputs. This position will facilitate the collaboration of multidisciplinary engineering teams and various client stakeholders to ensure that project goals align with the intended design specifications, functionality, operability, maintainability, constructability, quality, cost, and timeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively promote and support the principles of an Incident-Free Culture (IFC).
  • Conduct IFC workshops as necessary.
  • Enhance the organization’s learning capabilities by understanding and learning from the workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with Client document and records management (DRM) policies for all files and communications.
  • Utilize Client AK standards and practices appropriately based on project size and risk.
  • Confirm that engineering contractors comprehend functional requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare material and equipment orders to guarantee supplier adherence to specifications and engineering standards, while remaining within budget and schedule.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of engineering contractors against established cost and schedule benchmarks.
  • Ensure that contractor resource requirements for the project are effectively planned and available as needed.
  • Maintain organized and clear documentation of communications and directives between contracted teams and project management.
  • Verify that contractors deliver the scope of work and all necessary outputs in accordance with contract terms and Client conditions.
  • Facilitate prompt resolution of engineering queries during fabrication and construction phases.
  • Develop the Engineering Plan as part of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) as assigned by the Engineering & Commissioning Manager.
  • Monitor project execution in alignment with the established plan.
  • Communicate any deviations that may indicate scope changes through the project change management process and update the PEP accordingly.
  • Identify and communicate technical and execution risks that may impact business and project objectives.
  • Collaborate with environmental permitting specialists to prepare and provide necessary documentation for project permits.
  • Ensure adherence to the engineering change management process to maintain technical integrity.
  • Coordinate engineering support for the procurement of materials and services required for the design, fabrication, and installation of facilities.
  • Incorporate constructability insights into the project design.
  • Schedule and conduct Client AK Design Review and Acceptance Practice (DRAP) sessions.
  • Ensure that process hazard reviews and safety in design standards are implemented and documented.
  • Identify, document, and obtain approval for any specification deviations and adaptations from the Client's Technical Authority.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in oil and gas facilities.
