Job OverviewCompany Overview:

HDL Engineering Consultants, LLC (HDL) excels in delivering civil, geotechnical, transportation, and arctic engineering, as well as environmental and earth science, surveying, and construction management services across Alaska. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Engineering Assistant to contribute to our projects.


Position Overview:

This role involves providing support to senior engineering personnel in the execution of project deliverables throughout all stages of design, permitting, bidding, and construction. Candidates with a keen interest in water resources are particularly encouraged to apply.


Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
  • Possession of a current Engineering-in-Training certificate is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with fundamental civil engineering design principles is essential.
  • A background in water resources and experience in conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D design software is necessary.
  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to both verbal and written instructions and procedures.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and communicate clearly with colleagues through both verbal and written means.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior engineers in the preparation of project documentation, including reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Utilize knowledge of civil engineering and drainage design principles.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses in both urban and rural settings.
  • Operate office machinery and equipment as necessary.
  • May involve outdoor work and/or travel to various locations, potentially under challenging conditions for brief periods.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
