Project Engineer

UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join their Commercial Construction team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, organizing, and implementing of construction projects in remote locations throughout Alaska.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction engineering and management, with experience in project controls systems, engineering interface, subcontract and materials management, purchasing, and scheduling. Additionally, they will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting project administration and ensuring contract document logs are established and maintained
- Preparing and presenting status reports on RFIs, Submittals, and other documents
- Effectively issuing Request for Quotations and following up with Trade Contractors
- Timely documenting field quality activities
- Preparing change management reports, estimates, and other cost report documents
- Establishing and maintaining project quality files and documentation systems
- Continually promoting organizational change initiatives and suggesting new ideas
- Developing industry relationships and expanding professional networks
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience working for a General Contractor in a similar role. They will also have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as experience with project management software such as Primavera Suretrack.
