Core Responsibilities:

  1. Manage outpatient referrals and liaise with healthcare providers regarding dietary intervention services.
  2. Assess individual client nutrition goals, perform dietary evaluations, and document client progress throughout their treatment journey.
  3. Implement Nutrition Care Practice Guidelines tailored for outpatient settings.
  4. Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments in collaboration with patients, adhering to best practice protocols.
  5. Assist patients in creating nutritionally balanced meal plans and menus.
  6. Develop and update educational materials and diet handouts as necessary.
  7. Act as a resource for community nutrition education and address public inquiries regarding nutrition.
  8. Engage in continuous professional development through workshops and seminars to stay informed on the latest industry trends.
  9. Adhere to safety protocols to prevent injuries and ensure a secure working environment.
  10. Comply with organizational policies and labor agreements.
  11. Maintain courteous and efficient interactions with team members and support groups, reflecting the organization's values.
  12. Exhibit professionalism in conduct and appearance, meeting the standards required for the role.
  13. Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by management to meet organizational goals.
  14. Support related dietary services as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • Certification:
    Current Certified Dietitian status in Washington State.
    Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or eligibility for RD status.
    Valid Washington State Food Handlers permit.
  • Experience:
    Minimum one year of clinical dietitian experience preferred.
  • Skills:
    Strong knowledge of nutrition and food preparation techniques.
    Ability to operate equipment as per departmental guidelines.
    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    Accountability in decision-making, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
    Effective communication skills across diverse patient demographics.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and reaching.
  2. Manual dexterity and capability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
  3. Effective verbal and written communication skills for accurate information exchange.
  4. Good visual acuity for patient assessment and documentation tasks.
