About the Role

Argo Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Claims Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for adjudicating complex construction defect claims and providing exceptional results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adjudicate construction defect claims with limited oversight, exercising broad management direction and technical expertise.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, gathering and analyzing information to find solutions to complex issues.
  • Report to senior management and underwriters, providing prompt and thorough claim investigations.
  • Analyze claims forms, policies, and endorsements to determine policy coverage.
  • Manage claims in litigation, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Set claim reserves, identifying and coordinating expertise resources to assist in case resolution.
  • Prepare reports for file documentation and negotiate settlements.
  • Process mail and prioritize workload, completing telephone calls and written correspondence.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years' experience adjudicating construction defect claims with extensive experience with exposure of $100,000 or more.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required, or two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience.
  • Possession or ability to quickly obtain a license in each jurisdiction requiring a license to adjudicate first-party claims.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to build lasting relationships, and natural curiosity.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent evaluation and strategic skills, and strong claim negotiation skills.
  • Ability to articulate the financial value of your work at multiple responsibility levels inside our clients' business.
