We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Claims Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for adjudicating complex general liability bodily injury claims for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Adjudicate highly complex claims with limited oversight, utilizing broad management direction and technical expertise.
- Conduct thorough investigations, gathering and analyzing information to find solutions to complex issues.
- Report on claims trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.
- Manage claims in litigation, ensuring timely and cost-effective resolution.
- Set accurate claim reserves, considering policy wordings and their impact on the claims reserving process.
- Identify and coordinate expertise resources to assist in case resolution.
- Prepare reports for file documentation and negotiate complex settlement packages.
- Bachelor's degree and/or multiple industry designations required.
- Minimum 7 years' experience adjudicating general liability claims with exposure of $100,000 or more.
- Good business acumen and ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload effectively.
- Strong claim negotiation and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of claims reserving techniques and ability to assess claim reserves.
- Strong customer focus and ability to articulate financial value of work.
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to consider all options.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business-related software.
- Polished and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and write English fluently.
- Desire for continued professional development through continuing education and self-development opportunities.
- Licensed Claims Examiner (based on state) or ability to quickly obtain a license in each jurisdiction requiring a license to adjudicate first-party claims within 120 days.
