Job Title: Cornerstone Director/SACC License Coordinator

Brooklyn Community Services (BCS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cornerstone Director/SACC License Coordinator to lead our Cornerstone programs and ensure compliance with SACC licensing requirements.

Job Summary:

The Cornerstone Director/SACC License Coordinator will be responsible for providing exceptional leadership and management to our Cornerstone programs, ensuring high-quality services delivery to clients from vulnerable populations. This role requires strong supervisory and team-building skills, as well as the ability to motivate and align staff efforts to changing priorities and approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage all aspects of high-quality program services delivery to clients from vulnerable populations in accordance with funder and regulatory requirements, best practices, and BCS policies and Core Values.
  • Apply for and maintain all Cornerstone SACC licenses as needed.
  • Develop and implement educational and recreational summer and school year programming in accordance with DYCD, DOE, and DOH/SACC guidelines.
  • Ensure programs are effective and designed to achieve measurable goals in line with BCS mission and DYCD contractual obligations.
  • Direct contact and reporting to DYCD Program Manager, oversight responsibility of DYCD Site/Audit visits, and attendance at DYCD Director meetings.
  • Oversee and monitor DYCD Cornerstone Database to ensure program compliance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure program compliance with all regulatory requirements, including fire safety requirements.
  • Recruit, engage, and monitor all Co-locator and Sub-contractor relationships for Cornerstone site.
  • Plan, implement, and support all recruitment, enrollment, retention, and referral efforts of Cornerstone participants.
  • Coordinate and attend all Resident Association meetings and develop, coordinate, and ensure compliance with all Youth Council meetings.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring budget mandates are followed.
  • Recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and payroll for all Cornerstone center staff.
  • Experience with effective management of crisis intervention, handling mental health and medical issues with participants, and working with people with histories of trauma.
  • Develop and implement staff professional development workshops responsive to youth and community needs.
  • Participate in cross-agency working groups and committees to achieve agency goals, attend training seminars, division staff meetings, and community meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or Elementary Education with strong management and supervisory experience (5 years or more) required; MSW, MPA, MPH or equivalent Master's Degree preferred.
  • Effective leadership, communication, supervisory, and team-building skills, including the ability to motivate, align staff efforts to changing priorities and approaches, set goals, delegate responsibilities, and manage staff performance.
  • Must have appropriate fire safety certification (currently S95 and F07); if hired without certification, must attain certification within 3 months of hire.
