Transportation Coordinator Job Description

At Maplewood Senior Living, we're passionate about providing exceptional care and services to our residents. As a Transportation Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive safe and reliable transportation to their medical appointments, activities, and shopping errands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport residents to and from medical appointments, activities, and shopping errands using our community-owned vehicle.
  • Read and manage the transportation schedule daily to ensure all scheduled appointments can be met.
  • Be flexible and available for unscheduled transportation needs in emergency situations.
  • Monitor resident activity and alert staff when assistance is necessary to ensure resident safety.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspection checks and report any maintenance problems or safety issues to the Executive Director.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with fire, missing persons, and other emergency procedures, and follow community policy and procedures detailed in fire and disaster plans.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, requiring a self-starter mentality.
Requirements:
  • Current Class F or CDL state driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Experience in a driving position is preferred.
  • A passion for working with seniors is a plus.
  • Ability to operate the van lift.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
